Pop Sugar Must Have Box July 2016

Pop Sugar has given me the opportunity to try their Must Have Box (monthly subscription) from the month of July! This box came with several products that will come in handy for the remaining part of the summer!

Inside the box features a little pamphlet that gives a description of all the items you're getting in the box.

House of Pom Emoji Cocktail Napkins: These little napkins are so cute, and they would be really nice to use for parties. I really like that they are fabric and reusable.

Michael Stars Porcelin Skinny Scarf in White:This skinny scarf is light weight and perfect for summer. I've worn this on a few occasions with summer dresses.

Sachajuan Hair in the Sun: This serum is very light weight, so it does not weigh down my hair at all. It also offers sun protection for the hair as well, which most people neglect during their outdoor summer activities.

Sunnylife Inflatable Drink Holder: Another great item to use at a party. It would be great for a pool party since it's inflatable.

Joe Chips Classic Sea Salt Retro Potato Chips: i ate these chips within 5 minutes of receiving this box! They are really good potato chips, and I like the sea salt.

Pintrill Pineapple Pin: This adorable pin might revitalize my pin collecting hobby. I like wearing it on the skinny scarf above.

European Wax Center Oh My Brow Brow Highlighter in Pear: This has been the only highlighter I've been using since receiving this box. It reminds me a lot of Benefit's Watt's Up Highlighter in texture, but it is a little warmer. This gives my an amazing glow with any makeup look. I actually use it on my cheeks more than my brows.

This box also features a $20 gift card to Trove which is a jewelry website.

I think this box is an awesome value overall. It is valued at $100 and costs $39.95 per month. My most used product in this box is the Brow Highlighter. If you are interested in this box, use the code SHOP5 for $5 off your first box! Have you tried the Pop Sugar Must Have Box before? If so, let me know what you think about it in the comments!

Studio Gear Dual Identity Wet/Dry Foundation

Studio Gear has given me the opportunity to try their Dual Identity Wet/Dry Foundation and let you all know my thoughts on it!

Essentially, this foundation has the capability of being used as a liquid or powder depending on if you just use the powder on its own, or mix it with the Studio Gear Revitalizing Day Serum to achieve a liquid foundation. I received the shade Raw Sugar (darkest shade) which is a perfect match for me.

The packaging for the Serum is very nice and feels high quality. And the powder comes in a loose form, but it has a sifter on the packaging to keep things from getting too messy.

Applied dry it is very similar to a lot of loose powders I have tried. It gives me a nice matte finish with light to medium coverage depending on how much is used. On my oily skin type it lasts 5+ hours before I need to blot or reapply.

Applied wet my skin feels extremely soft, and the finish is very natural. It gives me light to medium coverage, similarly to the dry form, and it's surprisingly very quick and easy to use. I found that it doesn't take much longer than using foundation which is already in liquid form. If I am applying it wet I skip the moisturizer step in my skin care routine because with the serum, extra moisturizer is unnecessary. My favorite way to use this powder is by using it wet and then setting it with the dry powder after it sets. This way I get maximum coverage and staying power.

Overall, this is a cool concept and I like the color a lot. I also love how it makes my skin feel. The only thing I would change about this foundation is the shade range because I feel like more darker colors are needed.

Summer Makeup Faves 2016

It has been forever since I've done a favorites post, so I figured I'd update you all on the products that have been getting me through these, hot, summer months!

The Black Radiance Pressed Face Powder in Ebony has been my number one choice as a bronzer/contour shade. Since my skin has gotten so much darker from being in the sun, I have found it useful to look for pressed powders that are darker than my skintone because right now every bronzer/contour shade that I own is about the same shade as my skin. My go to highlighter is the Maybelline Master Hi-Light in Mauve which I have been loving for it's finely milled powder. The glow and hint of mauve it provides has been adding much more depth to my summer night looks. I've also been loving the Colour Pop Super Shock Cheek Matte in Tonic. I've said this many times on this blog, but if you have a deep skin tone, try an orange blush! Seriously, orange on bronze/ebony skin tones looks amazing!

For my daily face powder I've been using the Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder in Coconut. This powder has awesome coverage, and I love it for days where I don't want to put on foundation, but want to even out my skin. But on the days I do decide to wear more coverage on my skin, I have been using the Supersize CC Illumination Color Correcting Illuminating Full Coverage Cream SPF 50+ in Deep. This may be classified as a CC Cream, but the coverage is about the same as most of the medium coverage foundations I normally use. The added spf makes it perfect for all the outdoor activities I've been doing lately.

I haven't been into wearing bold lip colors because the weather is so humid and hot here in Georgia, I feel like I would be sweating them off constantly. But the lip products I have been using are the Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip, which is extremely moisturizing and feels so comfortable on the lips. And for a hint of color I've been adding the 2nd Love Cosmetics Pout Plumping Lip Gloss in Coralina, which is a gorgeous coral color for summer.

As I said above, the weather here isn't exactly "makeup friendly" so I have not been reaching for many of my eye products unless I'm going out at night. But on the daily, I do use the Hello Lashes 5-in-1 Volumizing Mascara which does amazing things for my lashes all-around. It gives me length, volume, and separation.

What products have been your favorites so far this summer? Let me know in the comments!

L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss

When I first saw the L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss in Walmart I was confused. Thinking, "What the heck is a matte...........gloss.........." I selected a the shade Forbidden Kiss (typical Aaliyah move to go for the berry shade) and purchased it immediately.

I got it for around $7.99 and it comes in a clear tube with a doe foot applicator. I like the packaging and applicator- no issues there.

Upon application the product applies very smoothly and evenly. It is very opaque and lasts around 4+ hours on my lips, but I find that it looks better and lasts longer when used with a lip liner.

Now on to the finish: I've found that when applied thinly it dries to a matte finish, but if you apply it in larger amounts for bolder color payoff, it never really gets matte. I honestly don't know how to feel about this product. I want to be mad at it for never becoming truly matte, but it does have the word GLOSS in the title. L'Oreal claims this product dries to a "velvety finish," but again, I usually get a pretty shiny finish unless I really sheer it out.

I think if you are looking for an affordable, comfortable gloss, with lots of color payoff, then you should definitely try these out. BUT if you are into the dry, matte look that has become a craze in the beauty community lately, this product won't do it for you (nor does it really claim to). I will continue to use this product because its a beautiful color, but I don't see myself picking up anymore shades cause my makeup collection could use more true-matte shades.

IT COSMETICS IT'S YOUR CUSTOMER FAVORITES QVC TSV 6/25/16

It Cosmetics is back with another TSV on QVC today only!! Here are the products featured in the set:

Heavenly Skin CC+ Skin Perfecting Brush

:
It cosmetics's brushes are always so gorgeous that I never want to use them and this brush is no exception. It is extremely soft and perfect for applying powder or cream products. And it cleans easily, so no worries about it returning to the perfect white shade.

Tightline 3-in-1 Black Primer, Eyeliner, Mascara

This mascara has the tiniest wand, so I had my reservations on whether it would be a good match for me. However, it's small size allows you to get close to the lash line giving you the effect of tight lining your eyes with eyeliner. It is also fabulous at giving my lashes length and separation. This is a perfect every day mascara!

Supersize CC Illumination Color Correcting Illuminating Full Coverage Cream SPF 50+

This may be a BB cream, but don't let the title fool you. It has good coverage (light to medium) and a gorgeous illuminating finish. It also keeps my skin hydrated without being overly moist on my oily skin. And the fact that it has spf in it makes it great for summer. The wear time is also decent. It wears for around 8 hours on me and lasts even longer if I touch up with translucent powder throughout the day. I only wish it came in more shades.

Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip

This lip treatment melts onto your lips as you apply it and provides hours of moisture. It also adds a unique, subtle pink color. The packaging is fantastic as well. The product comes packaged in a metal pink tube which uses a magnet to keep both ends shut. This product is perfect for every day where and I feel luxurious every time I pull it out of my purse to use.

This set is such a great value! The mascara is definitely my favorite part. Make sure you visit qvc.com and go to the TSV (Today's Special Value) section to take advantage of this limited deal!

IT COSMETICS- IT'S YOUR BYE BYE COLLECTION QVC TSV 3/21/16

It's time for another It Cosmetics Today's Special Value on QVC! Today the featured set is the It's Your Bye Bye Collection which features 5 products that will have you saying "Bye Bye" to your skin issues.

The Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm was the first thing that caught my attention in this set. When I saw the words "Cleansing" and "Balm" used to describe the product I knew It Cosmetics had come out with another extremely innovative product. Upon application it definitely feels like you are rubbing a balm on your face. I massage it into my skin very good to get the makeup off. Then I rinse it off, which causes the consistency to turn from balmy to milk. After use my skin feels so hydrated and clean, which is shocking since it is a balm. It does an excellent job of removing ALL of my makeup. When I follow up with toner on a cotton pad and moisturizer, there is no trace of any makeup on my face. I'm very impressed with this product.

The Bye Bye Pores Finishing Powder claims to give you an airbrushed look, and this translucent powder does exactly that. It is great at oil control, doesn't make my skin look ashy, and is great for setting makeup. It Cosmetics also did a fabulous job, as usual, with the gorgeous, matte black packaging. It also features a mirror and an applicator sponge. I love using the Heavenly Skin Bye Bye Pores Powder Brush (below) with this powder.

The Bye Bye Pores Blush Airbrush Brightening Blush comes in the same matte black packaging as the translucent powder. The shade looks fairly light in the pan, so I wasn't sure if it would work on my complexion. However, when warmed up on my skin it flushes to a deeper color which you'll see in the swatches below. The blush does a great job of giving me the appearance of smooth skin and minimizes the appearance of pores. The matte finish makes it a great everyday blush for a variety of skin tones, but if you are very deep, I would steer clear.

The Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination™ Full Coverage Anti-Aging Concealer has a formula that feels very similar to the original Bye Bye Under Eye concealer. This version is perfect for highlighting and has great coverage. The consistency is perfect- not to thick or thin. And it is very long lasting. I love concealers that come in squeeze tube packaging too because it's sanitary and easy to dispense.

The Heavenly Skin™ Bye Bye Pores™ Powder Brush is gorgeous. It is so gorgeous that I didn't want to use it! When I finally did decide to test it out, it felt like I was rubbing a bunny around on my face. Seriously, this is the softest brush I've ever used, and it feels very high quality. I love using it with the translucent powder (above).

Once again It Cosmetics has put together a fabulous set. All these products work very well together, so this set is an amazing value. Also, all of the products are new, except the translucent powder. This has to be one of my favorite It Cosmetics TSV sets to date. And they did a phenomenal job on the packaging for all of these products. Make sure you go to qvc.com TODAY and pick up this set! You won't regret it!
