NYC Individual Eyes Review

Today I am going to be reviewing a product that I received a month ago called NYC (New York Color) Individual Eyes. This is a small palette that consist of 4 eyeshadows, a primer, and an illuminator. This palette is called Dark Shadows.

My first impressions of this product were very good because the 4 eyeshadows it includes contain the right colors to obtain a complete looks. I was also curious to try the cream primer and illuminator, but my expectations were not high because my eyelids are very oily. When I put this product to the test I found mostly positive things, but I saw a few negatives.

Eyeshadow Pros & Cons:
Pros: good selection of colors for a complete look, nice color payoff, long lasting when used with a primer
Cons: powdery, so there is lots of fall out if you are not careful.

At first I was kind of excited about the primer, but every  time I tried it the eye shadows creased. My eyelids are very oily though, so it may work for someone with dryer eyelids. It last about 4 hours on me which is pretty decent. I did enjoy the color of the primer though, because it made the colors show up nicely and brighter!

Illuminator: I love the cream illuminator it comes with! I love to use it on my brow bone and inner corner of my eye to highlight those areas. It also makes an excellent base, and gives a similar effect to the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk, or the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Too Cool. It makes the shadows appear brighter and more true to color. I do recommend using it with a primer if you use it all over the lid, but I would use a different primer than the one it comes with if you have oily eyelids.

Here are some swatches of the eyeshadows, primer and illuminator:

Overall, I really enjoy this palette, and I may even look at the other varieties of this palette that NYC carries. I give this palette an 8/10.

**Disclaimer: A while ago I was sent this eyeshadow palette as a result of winning a challenge, but receiving it for free does not change my opinion.**
