July Favorites!

It's the end of July already, so I am going to tell you what my most used products were for this month! I added some new products to my makeup collection, and a few of them quickly became favorites.

1. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream: I have used this almost every day and it has quickly become one of my favorite face products! It makes my skin look even and bright without much effort! And on top of that it had SPF 30 in it, so I am protecting my skin as well. I have a review of this on this blog already, so if you want to know exactly why I like this you can check that out

2. NYC Blushable Creme Stick: I have been using this product in the shade Berry New Yorker and it is such an easy product to use. Since it is in stick form I can just swipe this across my cheeks to give my skin a warm glow. The color is really nice too!

3. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Smitten: This and lip balm are the only products I really used this much. I like this stain because it isn't drying to me, and the color last at least 8 hours for me. I really like not having to think about reapplying a lip product!

4. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Too Cool: I really like using this white base under my eyeshadows, because it makes them appear brighter. It is also a long lasting product and does not crease on my eyes.

5. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt: This is another color I have been using as a base because the color is so beautiful. I also use it in the inner corner of my eyes and my lower lash line to brighten my eyes. The only problem I have with this product is that it creases very easily on the eyes, but when used with a primer it is fine!

6. Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara: I have been using this pretty much everyday. I like this mascara because it gives my eyelashes length and separation. Also this isn't water proof, but it last a long time and does not smudge on me. I have a further review on this blog if you want to see all the reasons why I love this!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my favorite products for the month of July! And like I said earlier, most of these products I've already done an in-depth review on, so click on the name of the product to learn more about it!

I would love to hear about what you have been loving this month! Please leave a comment telling me what you have been enjoying!

Always & Tampax Always Radiant Collection

One of the products I received in my summer beauty voxbox from Influenster was this cute little pouch. Inside it has feminine products from the Always & Tampax Always Radiant Collection.

Inside there was an Always Radiant Infinity pad, Always Radiant Incredibly Thin Liners, and two Tampax Radiant Plastic tampons.

I know feminine care products can be a little awkward to talk about, but I'm going to review these anyway! Hopefully you will find this review helpful!

Always Radiant Infinity Pad: This is really nice because it is thin and absorbs very well. I did not feel like anything was there, but I knew I was protected. I also like the fact that it had wings, so it was really secure. I was kinda surprised how much I liked these because I'm usually not too pick about what I use, but these were nice and I recommend trying them.

Always Radiant Incredibly Thin Liners: These definitely deserve the name "incredibly thin" because you can't even feel them. They are similar to the pad because you feel like nothing's there but you also feel protected. These were very nice, but at the same time I'm not sure if I would repurchase. It isn't special enough for me to want to buy it unless I had a coupon.

Tampax Radiant Plastic Tampons: This is my favorite product of the three because I prefer tampons to pads.  I normally use the regular Tampax Radiant tampons so I was excited to try this. The differences I found were in the packaging. The plastic part has a grip on it which I liked, and the wrapper was resealable. I could not tell any difference in the actual tampon though. I definitely will repurchase this one because I have been using Tampax anyways.

I hope this review was helpful you! It is kind of awkward trying to describe feminine products without getting too descriptive, but I hope you enjoyed it!

Elf Studio Powder, Stippling, and Blush Brush Review!

On you can find very cheap cosmetics. Most of the products range from 1-5 dollars. They also have a line of brushes that also follow this price range. Brushes can be so useful for makeup application. They can be expensive though, so as soon as I saw these brushes for only 3 dollars I wanted to try them so bad! Today I will be reviewing some Elf studio brushes which cost 3 dollars, and they can be found at and at Target stores. The brushes I have are the stipple brush, powder brush, and blush brush (left to right).

First I will tell you about the Stipple Brush:

This brush is made from synthetic fibers. It is black at the base with white tips that allow for flawless application of powder or cream products. I like using this with powder blush/bronzer, and cream brush/bronzer. Many people love using stippling brushes for foundation, but this brush isn't a very dense stipple brush. This means that it is hard to blend cream/liquid foundation and the finish is a little streaky. If you want a stipple brush for foundation you could probably do better than this one, but it is great for blush!

Rating: 7.5/10

The next brush I am reviewing is the powder brush:

This is a synthetic brush with black fibers and has a flat top. It can be used with any type of powder product, but since it is synthetic, it can be used for liquid and cream products too. I like to use this brush with powder foundation and liquid/cream foundation and it serves both purposes very well. Although this is called a "powder" brush, the application of liquid and cream products is still flawless! This is my favorite brush of from Elf, and also I have had no problem with shedding from any of these brushes.

Rating: 10/10

The last brush is the blush brush:
This brush is synthetic with black fibers, and it's fluffy with a tapered top. It is small and is the perfect shape for applying blush, and contouring the face. I have used this with powder and cream blush and the shape allows me to place the color, and then blend it flawlessly. This brush is great and I highly recommend it as well as the powder brush.

Rating: 10/10

Overall I recommend trying these studio face brushes, because the quality is great for the price. I was shocked at how the powder brush out performed some of my more expensive brushes. All of these brushes are soft, they don't shed, and the work well. My only problem is the density of the stipple brush, but other than that these are great.

Have you tried Elf brushes before? If so which is your favorite?

Quaker Soft Baked Banana Nut Bar

A few weeks ago I was able to try a product called the Quaker Soft Baked Banana Nut Bar, and I thought it was an interesting product.

It is a snack bar that contains protein, fiber, is low in fat, and only contains 140 calories. I think the concept is really nice, and it is great for on-the-go. It can also be heated up and eaten warm. The only problem I had with this is the fact that it has Banana in it, and I do not like bananas. It is a nice product, but I couldn't get over that taste! I made my mom and my brother try a piece, and they loved it though! I think that if you enjoy bananas you will like this product, but if not you should probably pass on this one!

*I received this product complementary from Influenster for review purposes, but all opinions are my own as always!*

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sunscreen SPF 30

I am outside a lot during the summer, so one of the most important things to me is sunscreen! For the past few weeks I have been using this sunscreen called Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration.
This is a great sunscreen for many reasons. It has SPF 30, so it protects me really well from the sun. I still reapply it often though. Also it is so moisturizing and soaks into my skin really easily. I don't get that white cast on my skin that I normally get from sunscreens. And finally, it smells like coconuts! I love the fact that it does not have that strong "sunscreen smell". If you are looking for a new sunscreen that behaves more like a lotion, you should check this one out!

What is your favorite sunscreen?

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner Review!

Today I am reviewing the Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner which is eyeliner in the form of a pot that can be used with an eyeliner brush. They even include an eyeliner brush, which is pretty nice! I have the shade blackest black.

Here is a swatch on my hand, and as you can tell, the name of the shade is correct! It is definitely a dark black.

-Very dark and opaque
-Goes on smoothly
-Nice packaging
-Long lasting (last me all day on my upper lash line, and most of the day on my water line)
-Comes with a decent brush
-Does not dry out quickly (I've had this almost 6 months and it isn't dry)
-Achieves a similar look to expensive high end gel eyeliners except is only cost $9.99 USD

-Small shade selection; only 4 shades

I am not sure if the other colors are as good as the black one, but I love using this eyeliner! I am impressed with the quality and the packaging considering it was not very expensive. I do wish Maybelline would come out with more colors. Maybe they could do some kind of limited edition gel eyeliner collection or something. This is a great product overall and I recommend it to anyone that need a black gel eyeliner. I give this product a 9.5/10.

What type of eyeliner is your favorite to use? Have you ever tried using gel eyeliner?

Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara Review

Today I am going to do a quick review of a mascara I have been using for almost a year! I have repurchased it so many times that I think I need to let you all know how well it works!

Here are some close up picture of the wand:

Mary Kay advertises this mascara as a mascara that gives definition and separates your eyelashes, and it definitely does that for me. It also gives me a little volume, so it actually makes it look like I have eyelashes!

Here is a picture of my eyelashes without the mascara:

You can see that I have naturally curly eyelashes. I would also say that they are a medium length. They aren't super long but they aren't short either.

Now here is a picture of my eyelashes with the mascara on:

Here I applied two coats and it defines my eyelashes and adds volume to them. There is a little length added too.

Overall, I think this is a good mascara. You have to be careful and comb through gently though when you apply, or it will clump. The wand is very nice though, and it makes it really easy to comb out my eyelashes. If I want more volume or length, I will use this along with another mascara, like Maybelline The Falsies. By itself I give this mascara a 7/10.

Revlon Lip Butters VS. L'Oreal Color Riche Balm

Someone asked me to do a comparison on Revlon Lip Butters and L'oreal Color Riche Balms  because they are advertised in a similar way. In my opinion, there is not a lot of differences between these products, but I do like one more than the other. In this review I will talk about the pros and cons of both lip products.

Here is a picture of the shades I own:

Here are the Revlon Lip Butters
And here is my L'oreal Color Riche Balm

First I will tell you the similarities between these products:
-Very similar packaging; twist up tube like a lip stick
-Packaging matches the shade of the product for easy indentification
-Smooth and Moisturizing
-Similar Price ($7-$9 USD)
-Only last a few hours so you need to reapply

Now here are the differences.

Revlon Lip Butters:
-Non-scented although some shades have a faint vanilla smell
-20 Shades
-Some shades are as dark and as opaque as a lip stick while some are sheer

L'Oreal Color Riche Balm:
-Fruity Smell
-Packaging a little more bulky
-8 Shades
-All shades are very sheer
-More moisturizing

These products have more similarities than differences, but I find myself using the Revlon Lip Butters more often. I like them better because there are more shades, and the are less sheer than the L'Oreal Balms. Although I do enjoy the fruity smell of the L'Oreal and the fact that they are a little more moisturizing, Revlon wins for me! These are both good products though and I recommend both.

Have you tried any of these two lip products? Which shades are your favorites?

Another Target Mini Haul

Wow, I need to learn how to control myself in Target! I went in there to get deep conditioner and end up buying makeup! I went to the hair section to get the conditioner and then I accidentally glanced in the makeup sections, and it felt like the clearance section was calling my name! I ended up getting some really good deals though!

 I got:

-Aussie 3 Minute Miracle $3
-Aussie Heat Protections Shine Spray $3
-Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara $2.48
-Maybelline Eyeshadow Quad in Plum Smokes $3.48

Next time I will do better with resisting the temptation I have to look at makeup! What is your favorite store to buy makeup from? I think mine are Target and Ulta! Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a great day!

Elf Brush Shampoo and Daily Brush Cleaner Review

When using makeup brushes, it is very important to make sure your brushes are clean! If you do not clean them when they are dirty you can be exposing your face to all kinds of bacteria, dirt and oil. Constantly putting these things on your face could possibly lead to breakouts, so to avoid this it is a good idea to clean your makeup brushes often. This review is going to be on the two products I have been using to clean my brushes.

The first product I am going to review is the Elf Brush Shampoo. This product is $3 and can be purchased on or at Target stores. I use this product once a week to deep clean my brushes, and I have really been enjoying it. Pour some of it into my hand and wet my brush, and then I lather my brush with the soap. Then I rinse out my brush with water and set it out to dry. This process cleans my brushes very well, and it leave my brushes very soft! I highly recommend this product if you are looking for something cheap to clean your brushes with!

The second product I use to clean my brushes is the Elf Daily Brush Cleaner. This product is also 3$ and can be purchased on or at Target stores. As you can tell from the name this brush cleaner can be used daily to quickly disinfect and clean makeup brushes. I mostly use this for eye brushes when I want to use a different color product and don't want to mix colors. I use this a few times a week by spraying it on a paper towel and then swiping my brush in the product to clean it. It dries very quickly so I can use the brush almost right away. It does a very nice job of cleaning for me, so I recommend this product to people that do different makeup looks throughout the week and want to use the same brushes.

If you are looking for a brush cleaner, I would try these out because they are cheap and do a good job! You can't really go wrong with this because it is so cheap, and you will be protecting your face from all the germs on your brushes!

What do you use to clean your makeup brushes? How often do you clean them?

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Skin Perfector REVIEW

Today I'm going to be reviewing the new Maybelline Beauty Balm. BB creams have been growing in popularity for a while now, and I have been wanting to try one so I'm excited that drugstores are coming out with Beauty Balms because I was a little skeptical of paying high prices for something I may not like! As I'm reviewing this product keep in mind that I'm aware that everyone says Asian BB creams are better than Western BB creams. Lots of people keep saying that Western BB creams are just tinted moisturizers, but these are the kinds I can try because of the shade selection. I will be reviewing this based on my experiences with tinted moisturizers, other Western BB creams, and based on what Maybelline claims this product can do.
My skin type: Oily and Acne Prone
Shade: Medium Deep
Price: $7.99-$8.99 USD
Consistency: Smooth and Light
Shade Range: 5 Shades from light to deep
Packaging: Squeeze tube

This product claims to do 8 different things for the skin. It claims to:
1. Blurs Imperfections: In my experience this claim is true. I do not have much acne, but I do have acne scars. This product did a decent job of covering my scars, but it is definitely light coverage. If you have lots of problems with your skin you will probably not like this product that much, but if your skin is not as problematic, you will most likely enjoy this.
2. Enhances: I am not really sure if  this claim is true. I have been using this for a few weeks and my skin doesn't really look enhanced. This has not caused me to break out or anything though. I would say that my skin is the same as it was before I started using this.
3. Brightens: This product does brighten my skin! It looks like I highlighted my skin even when I don't. It is also pretty matte though, which I like because i have oily skin.
4. Adjusts to Skin-tone: This product does adjust to your skin tone because when I first put it on it looks too light for me, but within a couple minutes it matches me perfectly
5. Smoothes: I'm not really sure about this claim. My skin does feel very soft and smooth with this product on, but my skin is pretty smooth already.
6.Hydrates: This product does moisturize, so I think it is good for all skin types, but it is not overly moisturizing. This is good for people with oily/combination skin. I still set my t-zone with a powder though.
7.SPF 30:  I think it is great that this bb cream had spf in it because you do not have to use a sunscreen before using this.
8. 0% Oil or Other Heavy Ingredients: This product doesn't contain oils so it did not break me out. My skin was pretty clear before using this and it still is now!

Overall, I really enjoy this product, because it meets most of the claims that are made. I also can say that this is better than a tinted moisturizer because no tinted moisturizer that I own does as much as this product. The tinted moisturizers I own just blur imperfections, hydrate, and contain spf. If you feel like the properties of this product would be beneficial to you, I recommend trying this! The only thing that bothered me about this product is it's ability to last. It fades in about 6-7 hours for me which isn't to bad, but it could be better. I give this product a 8.5/10

Have you tried any BB creams? Which is your favorite brand?

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color 908 Graphite Gravity

Right now on my nails I am wearing Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color in 908 Graphite Gravity, and I am very excited about the results! To get this design you paint on one coat of the nail polish and wait on it to dry completely. Then you paint on a second coat, and take the magnet off the top of the nail polish. Then hold it over your nail for about 10 second and you get a nice design! Make sure to do the second coat and the magnet one nail at a time, because it only works when the polish is very wet. I found lots of good things about this nail polish, but their are a few bad things:

Pros: -Nice color
         -Cute design with minimal effort
         -Decent brush size
-Magnet is on the cap of the nail polish
         -Dries quickly

Cons: -Use a good top coat because this chips easily!
-You have to be careful when using the magnet, because it is easy to hit your nail and mess up the polish application.
-The thumb nail can be kind of hard to do, because it is bigger. I had trouble getting the magnet to cover my whole nail, so I only got the design on the middle and not the sides. I guess this problem depends on how large your nail bed is though

Here are some pictures of my manicure:

Overall, I think this concept is a good idea, and I like the fact that I get this interesting look without it taking a  long time! It does have a few negatives, but I think with practice and a good top coat anyone can get these cool nails! I am definitely going to repurchase this and I'm going to buy new colors!

Target Mini Haul

I have been trying to avoid Target because I can never walk out of that store without looking at the makeup! And when I look at makeup I almost always buy something. Wow, I need to work on my self control in the beauty aisle! And today when I walked in Target, they were giving away free samples of their brand's makeup removing wipes! I was excited because I have never tried them before! I'm not sure if every target is doing this though. Anyways, the things I bought are:

-Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 085 Sugar Plum
-L'oreal Color Rich Balm 318 Heavenly Berry
-ELF Studio Powder Brush
-Peppermint Altoids

Swatches and reviews of the lip products are coming soon!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Review

Today I am going to review a product that I got last month, and have been really enjoying. It's called the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. This is not the first lip stain that Revlon has come out with. A while ago they made a lip stain that was like a felt tip marker. It also featured a lip balm on the other end of the product because it was really drying. Many people were disappointed in this lip stain. However, the new balm stain that they made is very popular and has been raved about by so many people. Here are the two shades I have:
025 Sweetheart
030 Smitten
Swatches of each shade on my hand

Okay, now I will tell you all the things I liked and disliked about this product:

-Long-lasting (lasted 8 hours on me)
-12 Shades
-Retractable (no sharpening)
-Minty smell/taste
-Nice color payoff
-Good Price ($7-$9 USD; Similar products usually cost a lot more)
-Does not transfer on to food or drink

-The lighter colors don't last as long or show up as much
-Shine doesn't last too long, but I guess I shouldn't expect it to because it is a stain

Revlon has made another excellent lip product and I think this product is useful to anyone that doesn't want to think about reapplying their lip product! I love lip products, but sometimes it is annoying to have to check and see if it is still on my lips! I give this product a 9.5/10.

Have you ever tried any lip stains? Do you like Revlon lip products?

Aveeno Active Natural Daily Detoxifying Scrub

For the past few weeks I have been using a scrub called Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Detoxifying Scrub, and I think it's time for a review!
On the packaging it says that it gently exfoliates skins, and it also says that it is oil free and soap free. My skin type is oily and acne prone, so I like to exfoliate a few times a week. In my opinion, this product does a decent job of exfoliation, I just think you can find something better for acne.

Pros: -Exfoliating beads aren't too abrasive but they still get rid of deaf skins
        -Very gentle
        -Washes of easily
        -Price ($5-$7 USD)
        -Oil free and soap free
-Made my skin feel smooth and clean
-This did not make my skin break out

Cons: -Smells like men's cologne; not fragrance free (scent doesn't linger though, so it may not be a problem for some)
-Didn't do anything for my acne because there isn't really any acne fighting medication in it. This isn't much of a con though, because Aveeno isn't advertising this as an acne fighting product

Overall, I think this is a good product for those of you that do not have to worry about fighting blemishes because of how gentle this is. I didn't feel like I was removing layers of my skin, while my skin still got smoother. If you are dealing with acne though, it may be better to find something to use that made to get rid of with acne. This didn't make my skin break out though! I give this product an 8/10.

Have you tried this product before? How often do you exfoliate your skin?

*Disclaimer: I got this product for free in a beauty bag from Target, but all opinions about this product are completely honest*

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Gloss in 040 Crystal Water Review

A few weeks ago I hauled this lip gloss from the Revlon Escapism Collection, so now I am going to review it. It is in the color 040 Crystal Water, and it is one of the prettiest clear lip glosses I own. This is because it has reflective purple shimmer mixed with the clear gloss. I could not get the light shimmer to show up in pictures, but next time you are in a drugstore you should to look at this lip gloss, because it's beautiful!

Now I will tell you the good and bad traits that this product has:

Pros: -beautiful color
         -vanilla smell/taste
         -nice applicator
         -large amount of product
         -smooth; not sticky
         -good amount of shine
         -is not drying
-stick applicator allows for easy application
Cons: -not the most long lasting lip gloss; I think it has to do with this particular shade, because the brighter colors last longer
-price is kind of high for drugstore; ($7-$8 USD)

Overall, this product is great for anyone that needs a good clear gloss, especially beginners. It smells great, it's easy to apply, and it isn't sticky! The price is a little high compared to what other drugstore companies charge for their lip glosses, but I think this is worth it for the unique color! I give this a 9/10.

Have you tried any of Revlon's lip glosses? Which drugstore brand is your favorite to buy lip glosses from?

EOS Lip Balm Review

Today I will be reviewing a lip balm that I have been using for a few months called: The EOS Lip Balm Smooth Sphere. As you can tell from the name, the lip balm is in the shape of a sphere and the packaging is egg-shaped. The also come in different varieties that all have a different packaging color and smell.  The different varieties are called Summer Fruit, Lemon Drop, Strawberry Sorbet, Honeysuckle Honeydew, Medicated Tangerine, Sweet Mint. I have (from left to right) Summer Fruit, Sweet Mint and Strawberry Sorbet.
Here you can see the inside of the sphere shaped lip balm.

EOS Lip Balm Pros & Cons:

Pros: -Moisturizing enough for me in the summer when my lips aren't as dry
         -95% organic and 100% natural
         -Free of harmful ingredients
         -Last 5-8 hours on my
         -Cute Packaging
         -Nice Smell

Cons: -I know I said the packaging is cute, but it is also large and impractical to travel with
-Not the most hydrating lip balm; If you have very dry lips this may not be the best for you

Overall this is a good product, but I have found that in the winter I need something a little more moisturizing. During the summer I love it though. Also sometimes the packaging is a little bulky when I am on-the-go, but it looks cool so I deal with it. For me the pros outweigh the cons, so I will continue using it. I would recommend it mostly to people that have mildly dry lips. I give this an 7/10 because it works well for me for half the year, and not as well during the other half.

Have you ever tried Eos Lipbalms? What is your favorite lipbalm?

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie Mini Review & Swatches

Today I will be reviewing the reviewing the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie. I got this shade back in December, and it quickly became a staple lip product in my makeup collection.

Here are some of my favorite things and least favorite things about the product:
Pros: -very moisturizing
-can be applied sheer, but the color is very buildable for a more opaque finish
          -has a glossy finish
          -lots of color variety
-good price for the quality ($6-$8 USD)
-tube color matches lip color, so identification is easy
-good packaging; feels more expensive than it actually is

Cons: -this isn't really a con, but I wish it smelled like mint or vanilla or something. I guess no smell is better than a possibly bad smell though

Here is a swatch of the product:

Overall, this is another excellent product from Revlon that I think everyone needs to try. You can get the moisture of a lipbalm, the color of a lipstick, and the shine of a gloss all at once! I can't even think of anything wrong with this product other than wishing it had a nice smell!

Do you own any Revlon Lip Butters?
