September Favorites 2012!

I think September is the best month ever (that has nothing to do with the fact that my birthday is in September.. haha), and I'm kind of sad that it is almost over! During this month I started using a few new products that I have really enjoyed, so here are my favorite products of the month:

(from left to right)
1. Maybelline Baby Lips in Grape Vine: I have used this lip balm a lot this month because it is purple, and this is a nice, subtle way to do purple/berry lips for the fall! It is also very moisturizing, and it smells amazing! I have a full review on all the Maybelline Baby Lips that I own HERE.

2. Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner Pen: I have been using this almost everyday! It is a very black liquid eyeliner with a very fine tip. This makes application very easy, so I reach for this eyeliner before all of my others. I have a full review on this one HERE.

3. Mary Kay Sheer Mineral Pressed Powder: This month I haven't been using any liquid foundations or tinted moisturizers. Instead I have been using this pressed powder because it feels very light, controls my oil, and has nice coverage!

4.Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara: This is my most used mascara this month because it separates my lashes, gives me length, and it doesn't make my eyelashes feel hard. I have a full review on this one as well HERE.

5.Maybelline Color Tattoo in Gold Shimmer: I have used this shade more than any other of my color tattoos this month because I love this color so much. I like using this with cranberry colored eyeshadows for fall inspired eye makeup. It also looks beautiful with green and purple. I have review and swatches HERE.

6. NYC Liquid Lip Shine In Midtown Mulberry: This is another berry lip product that I have been using. It is not sticky, it's cheap, and it has very nice color payoff for a lip gloss. If you have never tried NYC lip glosses I would recommend trying them because they are great quality!

I hope you enjoyed reading about the products I have been loving this month! I know I included a lot of Maybelline products, but they have been making a lot of great products this year. What makeup have you been using this month?

Sephora Birthday Mini Haul

My birthday was this month, and if you are signed up as a beauty insider at Sephora you get a free birthday gift every year. If you go to the store you can get it for free, but if you order the gift online you must make a purchase (no minimum required). Since I didn't feel like going to the store I bought an eyeshadow.

The Sephora eyeshadow I got is called Dreamy Blue, and the Birthday gift this year is the Fresh Sugar Kisses Mini Lip Duo. It comes with a clear and tinted lip treatment.

I also got a bunch of free samples:

If you haven't signed up to be a Sephora Beauty Insider yet I would recommend it, because they seem to give out nice things each year!

Sigma Beauty Expert Brow Design Kit Review!

Sigma recently created a brow kit filled with all of the tools needed to create beautiful eyebrows! I am going to review each product that comes inside and let you know if it is worth the hefty price tag.

All the products in this kit come in a neatly organized box. Here you can see the 2 brow pencils, pencil sharpener, 5 brow powders, double ended brow gel, and double ended brown brush. These can all be used to fill in your brows.

And here you can see that is comes with a mirror, brow scissors, tweezers, and brow stencils that you can use to shape your brows.

First I will review the products used to fill in your brows: The pencils and the brow powders are all very soft and easy to use. They all can be used to create a thick dramatic eyebrow, or you can use small strokes to create a natural brow. I really enjoy using all of these to fill in my brows, and i have nothing bad to say about any of these.

I also enjoy the double ended brow gel that it comes with. It keeps brows in place all day, but my only problem is the color of the tinted side. I have very dark brows, so the tinted side of the brow gel gives my brows this weird color. I love the clear side though. The tinted side may work on some people, but it just doesn't work on me.

I really enjoy the double ended brush it comes with. One side is a spooly that can be used to brush through the brows called the E80; and the other side is an angle brush to apply the brow powder called the E75.

Here is a closer up picture of the brow powders:

And here is a closer shot of the pencils and brow gel.

Next I will review the tools that can be used to shape your brows. The scissors and the tweezers are very nice quality, and I have no problem with them at all. I also enjoy the brow stencils because the can give you guidelines to follow if you do not know what shape/size will look best on your face.

Here is a closer picture of the tools:

Overall I think this kit is worth the $70 price if you love to groom your brows and love using multiple products to get the perfect eyebrow. It seems very expensive, but it does come with a lot of products, and I get a lot of use out of each of these products. If you usually only use a pencil and gel, or a powder and gel you may not find this worth your money though. I have very little problems with this kit, and all the products are nice quality, so I can justify spending this much on this.

I hope you found this review helpful if you have been thinking about buying this! What products do you normally use to groom your brows?

Cranberry And Gold Fall Eye of the Day!

It is the first day of fall, and fall is the best season ever in my opinion. I kinda want it to be fall all year because in the area I live in the summer is brutally hot. Anyways, I have already started doing my makeup in the spirit of the fall colors!

Here is the look I created with gold on the lid and a cranberry/ burgundy color in the crease. Then I did a little winged eyeliner.

This look is very wearable for day time so that's why I love to wear it. Here are the products I used:

I used the burgundy and cranberry shades from my ELF 144 palette.

And then I used Urban Decay Eyeshadows (left to right: Half Baked, Twice Baked, and Oil Slick), Maybelline Color Tattoo in Gold Shimmer, Maybelline Mega Push Mascara, Maybelline Liquid Eyeliner, and Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil.

Wow, all the products I used were Maybelline or Urban Decay! I just noticed that! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this. I am going to do a night version of this look soon!

Maybelline Eye Studio Marbleized Eyeshadow Review

Lately I have been using a lot of bronze and gold eyeshadow combinations because the color remind me of fall, so today I am going to share with you an eyeshadow duo I have been using. This is the Maybelline Eye Studio Marbleized Eyeshadow in Bronze Blowout.

This product has a dark brown eyeshadow and a light gold/champagne colored eyeshadow.

Here are swatches of this product on my skin. On the left the two shades are shown without a primer and on the right both shades are used over an eyeshadow primer. You can see that the primer really does affect the color pay off.

Here are the things I like and dislike about this product;
Pros:
-These are smooth and easy to blend
-They only cost $6.99
-Come in 14 different shades
-These last a long time because you get a lot of product (I have used these a lot and haven't even made a dent)
-Color doesn't fade

Neutral: You need a primer for the color pay off to be nice. I can't really decide if this is a pro or a con

Cons:
-Beware of fall out! Seriously when you use this do your face makeup after your eyes!

This is a nice product and I recommend it to everyone looking for good drugstore eyeshadows. Make sure you use a primer though! They also come in a lot of pretty colors so check them out when you're in a drugstore or superstore! I give these an 8 out of 10.

Sigma Paris Palette Review & Swatches!

A while ago Sigma came out with this palette called the Paris Palette. The each shade in the palette was made by a youtuber. It consists of 8 eyeshadows, 2 blushes, 1 luminizer, a blush brush, and an eyeshadow brush.

Here are some closer up shots of the eyeshadows:

And here are the Blushes and Luminizer:

Here is a swatch of all of the eyeshadows on my skin:

I really enjoy this palette because it has neutral eyeshadows to create a natural look, but it also contains colorful eyeshadows too! Also the blushes and luminizer were created to fit any skin tone. The eyeshadows and blushes are very smooth, easy to blend, and I get a nice amount of color payoff. They almost feel creamy when you touch them because they are so smooth, but they are actually a powder.

This palette also comes with two of Sigma's brushes:  the F40 and the E55.

This palette is very nice, and worth the money because you can create a variety of looks and it comes with nice brushes! The Paris Palette has become one of my most used eyeshadow palettes!

Do you own this palette? What is your favorite eyeshadow palette?

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Haul: Mini Review & Swatches

Last week on urbandecay.com there was a sale, and I was able to get 4 of their eyeshadows for only $6 each!

Here are the shades I got:
from left to right: Half Baked and YDK

And the other two I got are Twice Baked and Oil Slick:

Here are the eyeshadows on my skin:

These shades are beautiful! They are very smooth and blend very easily on my eyelids. You also do not need a lot of product to get an opaque finish. I am really excited that I got these on sale because I am not sure I would pay $18 each for these. If you like these eyeshadows, I recommend trying to wait until you can find them on sale, or you can buy them in a bigger eyeshadow palette. For example, the Naked and Naked 2 palette from Urban Decay have 12 different eyeshadows in them and cost $50.

Do you own any products from Urban Decay? What is your favorite eyeshadow brand?

Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero: Review and Swatch

A few times on this blog I have talked about how much I love the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in the shade Zero, but I have never actually done a review. Although this is an expensive eyeliner I always find myself reaching for this one over my other pencil eyeliner.

Here is a picture of the product:

And here is a swatch on my skin. As you cans see from this picture it is very dark and opaque.

Here are the things I like and dislike about this product:

Pros:
-Glides on smoothly and does not tug at the eye while applying
-Very dark black
-This does not move at all during the day when I put it on my upper lash line until I use makeup remover to get it off
-Very easy to sharpen
-The Urban Decay 24/7 pencil eyeliners come in 24 different shades!

Cons:
-expensive ($19.00)
-does not stay on my water line more than 4 hours

This is probably my favorite eyeliner out of all of the ones I own. I really hate the price, but even when I buy cheaper ones I still reach for this one the most. I have tried some good eyeliners from the drugstore, but almost all of the pencil ones smudge on my oily eyelids after 8 hours. 8 hours is great a great amount of time for an eyeliner to last, but this one out lasts all of my other eyeliners. I highly recommend trying these if you haven't already! I also recommend trying to find these on sale or in a set because that could save you a lot of money. I give this a 9 out of 10.

Do you have any drugstore pencil liners to recommend? I really want to try out Maybelline Master Drama Eyeliner because I have heard it being compared to this Urban Decay liner.

Thanks for reading! Please leave a comment telling me what your favorite eyeliner is!

My Favorite Fragrances for Fall!

During the summer I like to wear light, fresh scents, but during the fall I enjoy wearing scents that are a little heavier. These are the scents from Bath and Body Works and Victoria's Secret that I love to wear during the fall!

From left to right: Midnight Pomegranate and Secret Wonderland from Bath and Body works, and Warm and Cozy and Soft & Dreamy form Victoria's Secret Pink.

 Midnight Pomegranate:

This scent is very fruity. It has pomegranate, raspberry, citrus, jasmine, and blackberry. It also contains vanilla notes and musk which makes it smell heavier. Even though it is a body spray it lasts a very long time on me.

Secret Wonderland: (this packaging in this picture is the old Bath and Body Works Packaging)

This scent is also a little heavy, but it isn't too strong. This scent has a lot of fruity notes, but it also smells a little floral. It has strawberry, raspberries, jasmine, and gardenia petals. It also contains vanilla and musk

Warm and Cozy:
This scent is my favorite out of all of these! I feel like the name perfectly describes the scent! This scent is described as a blend of Pink Peony, Toasted Vanilla, and Raspberries. To me it is lighter and more refreshing than the two fragrances I listed above, but it still contains smells that remind me of fall.

Soft and Dreamy:
I really enjoy this scent during the fall because it smells like vanilla and whipped cream. It is also very refreshing and contains pink meringue. The food scents in the body spray remind me of Thanksgiving!

Wow, all of these fragrances contain either vanilla or raspberry or both! I must be really attracted to those types of scents. Anyways, if you are in Bath and Body Works or Victoria's Secret I recommend trying these scents because every scent smells different on other people depending on your body chemistry. Bath and Body Works also has some new scents for fall that I would recommend smelling in the store as well!

What are your favorite scent to wear when the weather gets cooler? Do you like to wear different scents during different seasons like me?
