Review: The Balm Balm Jovi Palette
I had never tried any palettes from The Balm, but since the Balm Balm Jovi Rockstar Palette got really good reviews I went ahead and tried it out. And I love it!!! If I were able to make up my dream palette it would have beautiful eyeshadows with a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes, and it would have unique colors. This product contains all of those things! Plus it comes with some face and lip products. I am so excited that I decided to try this palette.
The packaging is really nice. It is slim and I really like the picture on the front of the palette.
It also comes with a nice sized heart shape mirror.
And here are all of the powder products:
First I'll start off with the eyeshadows. These eyeshadows are some of the best I have ever tried. They have excellent color payoff! You actually need to be careful when using these because of how pigmented they are. The shades also have a slight buttery texture even though they are powder! I do not get much fall out at all from using these shadows though despite the softer texture. And my favorite part about the eyeshadows is that there is a nice mixture of matte and shimmery finishes. The left and right row have shimmery shades and the whole middle row is matte shades. These eyeshadows also have cute names and contain very unique colors.
Here are closer pictures and swatches of all of the eyeshadows.
The next type of product that this palette features are a shimmery gold cheek highlighter and a matte peach/pink blush. These products are actually popular The Balm products called Mary Lou-Manizer and Frat Boy blush. I really enjoy both of these products, and I think they would complement many skin tones.
On the left is a swatch of the luminizer and the right is a blended swatch.
On the bottom is a swatch of the blush and the top is a blended swatch.
And finally the last product that is in the palette are lip colors or cream blush. There is a nude mauve color and a red color. These were probably my least favorite part of the palette, but they aren't really bad. I just enjoy the other products so much more. I don't really like using these on the lips because if I need to reapply I don't really feel like going back into a palette. I rather just use a single lip product. These are decent cream blushes though. They last about 5 hours on my skin.
What I really love is the how these are in a section separate from the powder products. Everything stays nice and clean, so it was very smart to do that. I hate when products have all the cream and powders together because it gets messy.
I also like the bill board chart this palette comes with that gives you ideas for different eye looks.
This palette is very nice! It comes with beautiful, unique eyeshadows, and it has a good blush and luminizer. The lip/cheek products could have been better, but I'm just glad they are in a separate area. Also the packaging is cute and functional because it is so slim. I highly recommend trying this unless you are trying to use up other palettes. Your other palettes will get no love if you buy this!!
I am very excited about The Balm products, and I really want to try more because it was difficult finding negatives about this product.
I hope you enjoyed this review! What is your favorite palette?
