Liebster Award!

The Liebster Award is an award given to bloggers with less than 200 followers. This award allows bloggers to promote their blogs and meet new people. Thank you to Nini Kat and Emma Delfosse for nominating me! They both have very nice blogs, so you should check them out!

Here are the Rules:
1. Nominees link back to the person who nominated them
2. List 11 facts about yourself
3. Answer the 11 questions by the blogger who nominated you
4. Ask 11 new questions for the bloggers you nominate
5. Choose 11 people to nominate that have less than 200 GFC followers, and let them know they have been nominated

11 Facts about me:
1. I first started collecting makeup when I was in 7th grade or about 13 years old
2. I have an irrational fear of clusters. I get freaked out when I see honeycombs, lots of circles clustered together, or even magnified clumps of bacteria. I'm getting goosebumps just typing about it!
3. I love music and playing instruments. My favorite are viola and piano.
4. I have a rottweiler that is about 115 pounds, but she thinks she is 5 pounds. Anytime I sit down she hops right into my lap.
5. My favorite thing to do when I'm bored is look at pictures and magazine and try to recreate makeup looks.
6. I used to be a video game fanatic, and I used to collect video games instead of makeup. I still play video games sometimes, but I'm not as obsessed as I was.
7. This is actually my 3rd blog. The first was about video games, and the second was a beauty blog that I hated. I deleted it and made this one.
8. When I was little I was convinced that I was a powerpuff girl, and my parents tell me stories of the things I did because I was "a powerpuff girl".
9. I love fruity and food smelling fragrances.
10. I am a night person.
11. I have a horrible memory when it comes to movies and books. I can watch a movie and forget the important parts a week later. I have a great memory when it comes to everything else though!

Sephora! I would have so much fun spending $1000 on makeup!
6. What is your most hated fashion trend?

7. Would you have more fun designing shoes or clothing?
Designer clothing. I don't know why but I have a hard time spending a lot on shoes.

EOTD Featuring The Balm Balm Jovi Palette

About a month ago I did a review on a palette by The Balm called The Balm Jovi Rockstar Palette, and I raved about the quality of the eyeshadows. Here is an eye look I did yesterday for a party using a lot of these eyeshadows.

Here are the products I used to create this look:

I used  (from left to right)
-The Balm Balm Jovi Palette
-Mary Kay eyeshadow primer
-Maybelline Rocket Volum Mascara
-Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Black
-Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero
-Maybelline Color Tattoos in Painted Purple and Bad to the Bronze

And here are more picture of the eyeshadows. I used Iron Maid- In on my lid and a mixture of Alice Copper, Moderato, and The Stroke in my crease and outer corner. Then I used Allegro to blend out the darker shades, and I used Adagio under my eyebrow.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my eye makeup from yesterday. Have you ever tried any products from The Balm?

NYX Cinnamon Blush Review & Swatch

This is the first NYX blush I have tried, and I was very excited about it because of the color. The blush is in the shade Cinnamon and it is a very bright orange color. I haven't seen a blush exactly this shade of orange before, so I thought it would be a great addition to my makeup collection.

Here is a swatch on my skin. It is a little heavy, but I apply it in lighter amounts when I wear it on my face.

I am going to try to keep this review short, so here are the pros and cons of this blush:

-nice color payoff
-not chalky
-adds a nice amount of warmth to my skin tone
-blends very easily and it's very easy to work with
-great price and nice amount of product ($5-$6 USD)

-This only lasts about 4-5 hours on my skin before I need to reapply.

Overall, this is a nice blush. The color is nice and unique, and it isn't expensive. My only issue is the lasting power. This may be because I have oily skin, but I own blushes that last a lot longer than this one. Other than that I really like this, and I want to try more NYX blushes in the future.

Have you tried any NYX blushes before? If so, what is your favorite shade?

Review: Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara

It seems like Maybelline is always coming out with a new mascara, but I can't really complain. Most of them work out pretty nicely for me. I was pretty excited to try out this mascara because it seems to focus a lot on volume, and I love dramatic lashes. If you are a fan of natural mascaras this probably isn't for you because it definitely adds a lot of volume like it claims!

Price: $5-$8 USD
Claims: This mascara claims to give "explosive, beautiful lashes". It also claims to give lots of volume instantly.

This mascara has a pretty large brush with short plastic bristles.

Here are my eyelashes without an mascara on them:

And here are my eyelashes with two coats of the mascara on:

I got a nice amount of volume with this mascara. It makes my eyelashes look very thick and they are a lot more noticeable with this mascara than mascaras that focus on lengthening the eyelashes. Usually I use more natural looking mascaras like Maybelline Mega Plush, so when I first used this one I was thinking "Whoa, my eyelashes are super clumpy". Then I thought about how most volumizing mascaras give this effect and your lashes are supposed to look very thick. After using this for a few weeks it has grown on me. I actually like it now, but I probably won't be repurchasing it because it isn't the most amazing mascara. It does a pretty nice job of not flaking or smudging though even though this version isn't waterproof.

If you really like dramatic eyelashes then this might be worth trying. This isn't my favorite mascara, but I will continue to use it when I want very bold, thick eyelashes.

What do you think about this mascara? What do you look for in mascara?
