Maybelline Fit Me Powder Review

Since I have pretty oily skin I am always looking for good powders to set my makeup with, to use as powder foundation, and to use for mattifying my skin. The powder I am reviewing is called the Maybelline Fit Me Powder and I use the shade 355 coconut. I always seem to hear mixed reviews on this powder so I figured it was time to try it out myself.

The product comes in a black, square compact.

A mirror and a puff for application is also included in the compact.

To keep this review short I will list what I like and dislike about this product:

Pros:
-This gives good coverage for a powder
-It is smooth, not chalky
-The price is cheap ($5-$8 USD)
-Gives a glowy appearance because the powder contains a small amount of shimmer particles (shimmer particles aren't very noticeable at all though)
-The packaging is great and has a functional compact and mirror
-Does not give a cakey appearance to the skin
-Can be used as a powder foundation or a setting powder

Cons:
-This powder could do more for oil control; When first applied I enjoy the look it gives my skin, but after a few hours I need to blot again or touch up.
-The shade range is decent (18 shades), but I think their needs to be more darker shades

Overall this is a good drugstore powder. The texture, price, and packaging are great. This powder also has a better color selection than Maybelline Dream Matte. The shade range could include more dark shades though. I really enjoy this product and I get a lot of use out of it. I have better powders for oil control, but I like how it gives my face a natural look and not an overly powdery look. I would repurchase this. I think this powder would be great for dry and normal skin but only okay for oily skin.

Have you tried any of the products from the Maybelline Fit Me line? What is your favorite powder?

  2. My skin gets pretty oily during the day so I don't know if this would work for me. Right now I am using the MAC Studio Fix powder which is great but it is always nice to find alternatives.
