Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue

I really can't get enough of the Maybelline Baby Lips! Every time they come out with a new line it takes everything in my power to convince myself that I don't need every shade. And after I finally built up the self-control to avoid getting the rest of the Baby Lips Electro line, Maybelline came out with this new line of medicated Baby Lips called Baby Lips Dr. Rescue!

When I saw the display in Walgreens, I decided on the shade Berry Soft. It costs around $4.

These come in pretty similar packaging as the original Baby Lips, but all of the tubes in the Dr. Rescue line are white and slightly fatter. Most people probably don't notice that these are slightly thicker, but I have my old Baby lips in a lipstick holder, and these new ones don't fit.

The shade is a very natural pink/berry shade. It seems like these have a little less pigmentation than the originals as well. Here is a swatch of this shade:

Maybelline claims that this gives 12hr hydration, and I don't really know about that. That claim seems a little exaggerated, but it is definitely very moisturizing! The only issue I ever had with the original Baby Lips is I felt like they could be a little more moisturizing, and this is exactly the moisture I was looking for. This also has a menthol smell and a cooling sensation on the lips. I find it very soothing!

To summarize, these feel better on the lips than the original Baby Lips, and the moisturization lasts longer. I love to put this on at night, and in the morning I wake up with softer lips. These are also slightly more expensive than the other Baby Lips (around $1 more). I can't really decide if I like the Dr. Rescue line better than the Original and Electro because the colors in this line seem a little more sheer. I think I like all the lines equally, but for different reasons. I really enjoy this product though, and I would repurchase it.

  2. I was standing in the store staring at the Baby Lips display yesterday trying to decide if I wanted one or not. I decided to leave it because I had no idea that they actually had any colour once applied to the lips. Now I'm regretting it.

    1. When I saw the display soothing sorbet looked like it had the most color payoff out of all of them! I kind of want to try that shade too. Good thing they aren't limited edition!

  5. Very pretty, I have a few of the Baby lips and although I like them after getting the eos and so many other great lip creams, stains, sticks and butters I guess I don't use the Baby lips all that much anymore.

  6. I love the Dr. Rescue Baby Lips, or just Baby Lips in general! I don't have many, but I want some new ones. Have you tried any of the electro ones? I've been wanting to try it to see if my lips actually turn yellow or green ( I hope not)!
I hope you check out my blog!

    1. I have tried the green, purple, and pink electro baby lips! The purple and pink have color, but the green is sheer. I believe the yellow one is too. And I'll check out your blog!
