Hello Kitty Nails

I'm a huge fan of Hello Kitty, so when I saw this Hello Kitty Konad Nail Art Image Plate on amazon couple weeks ago, I had to get it! When I got received this in the mail, I looked up different Hello Kitty designs, and I was inspired by to create this manicure:

I used a pastel blue and purple from a Migi Nail Art kit, and the black I used was from the same kit as well. The studs on my middle and ring finger are from the Kiss Nail Artist Metallic set.

I love Hello Kitty so much, so this was really fun to do! It was also pretty easy! My top coat kind of smudged the design on my pinky though. -_-

Mary Kay At Play Just for Lips Lip Gloss Review

This new Just for Lips Lip Gloss palette is an addition to the Mary Kay At Play line, and this is also limited edition. This palette costs $10 and is available at and you can also purchase this from a Mary Kay consultant.

The lip glosses have the same packaging as the new eyeshadows which I reviewed earlier. This is very thin and easy to travel with. You don't have to worry about this opening up in your purse or makeup bag.

In this palette there is a berry pink shade, a clear gloss, and a cherry, red shade. All of the shades are sheer with shimmer.

Here are some swatches of each color:

All of these feel very comfortable on the lips! I don't find them to be too sticky, and they also give me a little bit of moisture. My favorite shade is the dark pink because It has the most color payoff. The other two shades I prefer to wear over lip sticks to add extra shine and shimmer, but I like wearing the dark pink on its own.

Most lip glosses typically last a couple hours on my lips, and the same is true for these. My only issue with this product is that it isn't really convenient to reapply the glosses. I have no problem using this with a lip brush at home, but when I'm out I don't really want to do that. I'm also not a huge fan of dipping my fingers into the glosses to reapply. Although I enjoy using this product, I would like it a lot more if it came in a tube.

Overall, I think is a pretty decent product, and I think someone who is young would enjoy getting it as a Christmas gift or stocking stuffer. I love how these feel on my lips, and they last for a pretty average time for a lip gloss. I just don't think this is the best packaging for lip products, so I probably wouldn't repurchase this.

Mary Kay At Play Just for Eyes Eye Shadow Review

Mary Kay has added two limited edition products to the Mary Kay At Play line which is targeted towards young adults. One new product is the Just For Lips Lip Gloss (review coming soon), and the other is this Just for Eyes Eye Shadow trio. This product costs $10 and can be purchased from a Mary Kay representative or on

The packaging for this product is very sleek and the plastic is very durable. This is also easy to travel with because it's so small and secure.

Each of the eyeshadows in this palette are shimmery. The first shade is a beautiful teal shade. I believe it's a duo chrome because it looks dark green in certain lighting and it looks blue other times. The middle shade is a gorgeous yellow-gold shade, and it's also my favorite of the three. The last shade is a deep brown with gold shimmer.

Here are some swatches of each color:

I enjoy the color payoff on these, but the teal and gold applied much more smoothly than the brown. The brown shade is definitely usable, but I would like this so much more if it was as buttery as the other two colors.

Here's an eye look I did using this palette:

I think this trio is a good value for the price, and the colors work nicely together. They last all day without creasing when I use an eyeshadow primer, and I don't notice any fading. The only issue I had with this is the brown shade not being as great as the teal and gold. Overall, this is a beautiful palette, and I think it would be a nice stocking stuffer or Christmas gift! I wish this wasn't limited edition because I think it's a nice addition to the Mary Kay At Play Line!

Leftover Nail Stickers Manicure

I really love using nail strips and stickers from lots of different brands, like Kiss and Sally Hansen, and I always end up with lots of scraps and leftover strips! I have a whole collections of leftover nail strips that I've accumulated over the past couple years. I was inspired by triangle nail designs on Pinterest to cut up the extras into different shapes for a unique effect!

Here's my nails from last week using Kiss Nail Dress:

This is so simple, but I was amazed at the number of people that complimented my nails last week! My friends and family couldn't believe how easy it was either! If you have a bunch of extra nail strips definitely try cutting them up into different shapes like, triangles, stars, stripes, French nail tips, etc.

NYC New York Color Big Bold Gloss Review

A few weeks ago I received this NYC Big Bold Lip Gloss from Influenster which I have been interested in trying for a little while! This lip gloss is pretty large and priced at only $3.99, and it has a pretty good shade range (12 shades). The shade I got is called 467 Pleasantly Plumped Pink.

I already mentioned the large size of this gloss, but the applicator is also pretty huge! It's almost the size of my lips! I put it next to the NYC Liquid Lipshine Lip Gloss below (it's on the right). I would say the Liquid Lipshine has a normal sized applicator, so you can get a good size comparison.

I'm really happy with this shade as well. This color is really nice for everyday wear, and the color looks nice on a lot of different lipstick shades. Here's a swatch of it:

This gloss applies very smoothly, and it does not feel sticky at all! It's also claims to give up to 4 hours of shine which is definitely true! Usually I don't get much lasting power if a gloss isn't sticky, but I'm happy with how long this one wears.

This does claim to be a plumping gloss, however, I don't notice a large difference in the size of my lips. It tingles when first applied, so I think there is slight plumping action. Also I'm not a huge fan of the smell. I can't really describe it, but has some sort of chemical smell. It don't notice it after I apply it to my lips though, so it doesn't bother me much.

Even though it doesn't plump my lips that much and the smell isn't the best, I really like this product. I use it daily because it feels very comfortable on my lips. The amount of product is also great too, especially for the price! I'm really glad I got the opportunity to try this, and I do plan on purchasing more shades.

*disclaimer: Although I received this product complimentary from Influenster, my opinions are honest!*
