Benefit Watt's Up Review

Benefit Watt's Up is the second part of the Sephora birthday gift for this year. I reviewed the 1st part, Benefit They're Real Mascara, earlier. I had never really been into highlighter enough to wear it daily, and I didn't think I would use this much when I received it. I have heard lots of rave reviews though, so I was excited to see if this is worth the hype!

This product is $30 for the full sized (deluxe sample pictured below), and it is available at all places Benefit Cosmetics is sold.

This is a cream to powder product in twist-up, shiny packaging. The full size product resembles the shape of a bulb.

Below is a heavy swatch (right) and a blended swatch (left).

I like using this beautiful, champagne color to highlight the tops of my cheek bones, and looks beautiful on the brow bone and on the inner corners of the eyes. The finish isn't overly shimmery, but it adds glow to the areas where its applied. Sometimes I put this on my face after foundation, but other times I put it on my bare skin, and put setting powder on top for a natural glowy look.

As you can probably see from the swatches, this blends really easily when first applied. Then, when it sets, it stays there for hours. I usually get around 5+ hours of wear with this which I think is decent with my oily skin.

Overall, this product is versatile, and effective. It could be more long lasting, but it's decent. I'm not a huge fan of the $30 price tag though, and I feel I can find something similar to this from the drugstore for a lot cheaper. The good thing is that a little bit goes a long way with this product, so you won't go through it very fast. Although I really enjoy using this, I'm not sure if I would repurchase it.

Have you used this before? What do you use to highlight?

  1. I totally agree with you about the price, I have the sample too and while it's okay, I think I prefer a powder formula for highliters :)

  3. I have this and I like it but oddly enough I prefer the e.l.f. facial shimmer to this and that is only $1! have you tried the e.l.f. facial shimmer whip? I put some on the back of my hand and use the pads of my finger to tap and blend it onto my cheekbones and it looks great!

  4. Love Benefit products but unfortunately the price tag always puts me off, it's even more expensive in the UK!
I was eyeing up this product in store so very useful review :) Looks a bit too shimmery for me

  5. For $30 I think I could pass out on it since the power lasting isn't the best.
