This year for the month of December I am participating in the #bigblogmasproject which involves blogging everyday for the 1st 24 days of this month! For more information you can check out Coleoftheball's post on it.I was a little nervous to commit to this at first, but hopefully this will show me that I can find time to blog more regularly!
For Day 1 I wanted to review a lipstick that I have been using a lot lately from the Mary Kay True Dimension line and it is in the shade Mystic Plum. These cost $18 and comes in 10 different shades. You can purchase it from a Mary Kay consultant or from marykay.com
This lipstick comes in a beautiful, silver tube. It is very luxurious feeling which is nice, since its a little pricey!
This shade is a very deep, vampy color, and it has a satin finish. I tried swatching it on my lips, but it looked a lot lighter and misleading. The swatch below really shows how deep the color is:
This is the smoothest lipstick I own, and I haven't tried one that feels better on the lips. It almost has the feeling of a Revlon Lip Butter on the lips, but with the pigmentation of a Lipstick, and it adds a little moisture as well! It also doesn't accentuate the lines on my lips, but most satin finish lipsticks don't give me that problem anyway.
The lasting power on this is nice too because I can get about 4 hours of wear depending on how much I eat or drink, and after it wears off my lips are stained a nice berry-reddish color for a few more hours.
Although it seems a little pricey at $18 I think this is worth the price! This is a better-than-average lipstick because of its luxurious feel, and gorgeous color. I plan on purchasing more lipsticks from this line in the future!
Have you tried Mary Kay Lipsticks? What colors do you like to wear on your lips during Winter?
