March Favorites 2013

I'm not sure why but I don't have that much beauty favorites this month. It seems like most of the days I wore makeup I used a product that I haven't used in a long time, and I switched up the products I used. Here are the products that I used consistently this month.

1. Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara in Blackest Black: This is probably the most surprising product to end up in my favorites. When I originally reviewed this mascara a month ago I thought it was just okay. I didn't think there was anything special about it. But after using this a little longer I have decided that I really like it. I didn't change my mind about the performance of the mascara, so there isn't really anything I would change about my earlier review. I just enjoy the dramatic effect that it gives my eyelashes now more than I did when I first bought it.

2.Hawaiian Tropic Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Island Berry: Many of you probably haven't heard of this lip gloss before because I don't believe it is found in the beauty section of stores. I found this in the sunscreen section along with other Hawaiian Tropic sun care products. This lip gloss is great for hot weather because it has spf 20 in it, and it is very moisturizing. It also has a very nice berry scent. I would recommend checking out this product if you want a lip gloss that will protect you in the heat.

3. Inglot Freedom System Eyeshadow Palette: Last summer I made this palette at an Inglot in New York City, and this month I rediscovered how awesome Inglot's eyeshadows are. The eyeshadows are very smooth and easy to blend. They also have a great price for the amount of product you get. If you want to see a full review and see what shades I have you can see my full review here.

4. Bath and Body Works Be Enchanted Body Spray: I have been using this body spray almost every day because it reminds me of spring. This is a floral spray, but to me this doesn't smell overpowering because it also has a sugary scent. Most of the top notes of it are fruity while the mid notes are floral scents. This is a nice scent if you want a non-overwhelming floral spray.

Have you tried any of the products in my favorites? What products have you been enjoying this month?

ELF Nail Polish Remover Pads

Normally to take of my nail polish I use cotton rounds and nail polish remover,  but recently I have started using these ELF Nail Polish Remover Pads instead.

This product contains 24 pads soaked in nail polish remover, and it comes in a plastic case. They are priced at $2.00 on eyeslipsface.com.

I have really enjoyed using these because they are so convenient. They take off my nail polish without much effort, and the nail polish remover has a very pleasant citrus smell! These are also very cheap. I use about 2-3 pads to take off all of my nail polish on both hands, so they are definitely worth the price. It is also easy to travel with these because they are small and you don't have to carry a bottle of nail polish remover!

I highly recommend these to anyone who paints their nails and especially to people that travel. I can't find anything negative about this product because it is just so convenient to use!

Have you ever used these before? What do you use to take off your nail polish?

New Maybelline Limited Edition Blush in Coral Burst

A couple days ago I was in Walgreens and I noticed a Maybelline display with new limited edition products. After mentally screaming with excitement, I noticed a very bright coral eyeshadow. I then said "that eyeshadow is so bright and pretty! I am definitely getting this", but when I read the label it said it was a blush!  I was kind of shocked because it seemed kind of bright and pigmented to be a blush. I am always happy when I see a new drugstore blush though because I feel like there aren't enough awesome drugstore blushes, so I bought it anyway.

The blush is called Coral Burst, and I paid $6.99 for it. This color is a very bold baked plush with very nice color payoff. When you look at it closely you can see very tiny shimmer particles, but I find that when I wear it on my face it just leaves a pretty sheen with no noticeable shimmers.

Here is a heavier swatch of the blush:

And here is a more blended swatch:

I really like this blush. It lasts a decent amount of time (around 4-5 hours on me), it is a good price, and has nice color payoff. It can look a little intimidating, but it blends out very easily to a nice color! I also saw two other blushes in the limited edition line. One is a neutral color and the other is a bright pink.

Have you spotted Maybelline's limited edition products yet? Would you wear a blush this color?

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser Review

My skin is pretty oily, so I am always looking for skincare products that keep me from getting oily as fast and blotting so much. I don't usually do a lot of skincare reviews , but this cleanser from Kiehl's is the best I have ever used for keeping my skin fresh longer.

This cleanser is white and lathers up a lot. I use it twice a day, and I take a small amount (maybe the size of 2 peas) and massage in into my face.

Pros:
-It makes my skin feel really clean without drying it out.
-My skin does not get oily as quickly as it did with other cleansers. My skin used to get oily a couple hours after washing it, but when I use this cleanser I can go up to 5 hours without using mattifying products or powder.
-Lasts a very long time because you do not have to use a lot

Cons:
-It cost about $20 which is a little on the expensive side for a cleanser. I think it is worth the price though because you do not have to use that much at all! I have been using this almost 6 months and it is only halfway gone!

If you have oily skin and haven't found a cleanser that is good for you yet I would consider trying this one. My skin has stayed less oily, and I have not had breakouts from this. This is definitely worth the price, and I will keep repurchasing it.

February Favorites 2013

February has ended and spring is approaching quickly, but I am not ready for the hotter weather! Winter is my favorite season, so I get a little sad when it starts getting warmer. I feel like I'm the only person that prefers winter over summer! Anyways, here are the beauty products I have been enjoying this month. Three of them are products that are pretty new to me, while the other two are rediscovered favorites.

1. Mary Kay Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss in Berry Tart: This lipgloss has caused me to neglect all of my other lip glosses, because I have worn this everyday since I got it. It has beautiful shine, it is moisturizing, it isn't sticky, and the color is beautiful!

2. Nyx Blush in Cinnamon: I have been using this blush so much because it looks so nice on my skin tone. Nyx blushes really are good for the price. And this color is pretty unique. I have found that no matter how I do my eyes this blush goes great with my makeup.

3. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream: This is a rediscovered favorite for me. I actually did a review on this last July and I used it all summer. Recently I started using it again though because I forgot how nicely it evens out my skin. I do not have a lot of problem areas on my face, so it gives me the right amount of coverage. I have oily skin, but when I wear this with some powder it last about 6 hours on my skin before I need to blot. If you haven't tried this yet I think it is worth trying, especially since there is a nice shade range.

4. Tarte Emphaseyes Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow in Slate: I got this during Black Friday, but I only started using it this month. I would describe it as a cool, brown, taupe color, and it looks great all over the lid when I don't feel like doing a lot with my eyeshadow. It also last a very long time, and it is waterproof! I love not having to worry about this moving around after I put it on.

5.Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner in Black: This is also another rediscovered product that I reviewed last July! I was on a pencil eyeliner and liquid eyeliner kick for a long time, but I have started using my gel eyeliners again. This one is my favorite because it doesn't dry out fast, it is very dark and opaque, and I never have to worry about smudging . I put this on my lashline and my water line and it does not move.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my favorite products of the month! What products did you uses a lot on February? And what do you prefer summer or winter?
