Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Khol Eyeliner Review

As much as I love Urban Decay's 24/7 eyeliners, I'm always on the hunt for a cheaper alternative. And after seeing rave reviews on the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Khol Eyeliner I had to give it a try!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Khol Eyeliner in Black
Price: $4.49+
Available in most drugstores along with Rimmel's website
10 shades available

This liner comes in a standard, pencil form and it sharpens with ease. It glides on the skin very smoothly and it's very creamy.

Below you can see a swatch of the Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in the shade Zero and the Rimmel pencil. I think the Rimmel liner is a tiny bit blacker, but it's not something I notice when worn on the eyes.

Although this lasted all day on my eyes, I don't really believe the 'waterproof' claim. Have you ever started washing your face, forgetting that you have eye makeup on? This happened to me when wearing this liner and I noticed smudging. It really isn't a problem for daily wear, but I wouldn't go swimming with this on and expect it to stay in place!

I find this liner very versatile because I can use it on my upper lashline, lower lashline, and lower waterline without any issues. And since it is so creamy, it is great as a base for smokey eyes. Once you blend this out it sets and stays in place.

Since the price and performance of this liner is so good, I would definitely repurchase it. I only wish Rimmel had the color selection of the Urban Decay 24/7 pencils!

Top 5 Summer Lip Products 2014

Bright lip colors seem to be a recurring trend every summer which makes me happy because I prefer bold, colorful lips over muted lips most of the time! I've been trying to take a break from all of my favorite purple and vampy lip shades for the new season. Here are my favorites:

1. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart: Lip stains are perfect for the days when I don't want to be bothered with reapplying a lip color all day, but still want to wear some color. This medium pink shade looks gorgeous worn bold, but it can also be sheered out for a more natural look

2. Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Celestial: Originally I wasn't a huge fan of this color on my skin tone, but when worn with any of the other shades I've mentioned, I love it! The formula is very comfortable on the lips and it really brightens up other shades for a more bold look. My favorite lip color to wear with this shade is the MK Mango Tango Lip Gloss.

3. Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid in Fuchsia Flash: This is my most worn lip product of the 5 listed here! It'd be really hard for me to make a summer lip product post without include The Vivids because all of the shades in the line are really perfect for summer. I always wear this shade when wearing minimal eye makeup.

4. Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid in Shocking Coral: Shocking Coral is a cherry red-coral shade which you can really see when it's swatched near Rimmel Celestial. Again, I love The Vivids line, and I think this is another great shade to pull out this season.

5. Mary Kay Nourishine Lip Gloss in Mango Tango: This gorgeous orange shade looks amazing on so many skin tones, and it also looks great when paired with coral lip sticks. Orange lips are really trending right now, and this is perfect if you don't feel comfortable enough wearing a bold orange lipstick.

Here are all of these products swatched:

Have you tried any of these products? What are your favorite summer lip products?

Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Violet Volt Review

Today's review is featuring another purple lipstick which I haven't talked a lot about on here! I've had this Milani Color Statement Lipstick for a little while now, and it is quickly becoming a favorite among my purple lipsticks!

Milani Color Statement Lipstick
Price: $5.49
Shade: Violet Volt
Available in most drugstores and on

I love the luxurious looking gold packaging on this lipstick! It's also nice that the bottom shows the color of the lipstick. The Color Statement Lipsticks come in 36 shades, so it's easy to pick them out by looking at the tubes.

Violet volt is a shade with lots of dimension. At first it looks like a regular purple lipstick with a shiny finish, but in various lights the shade looks warmer and cooler. This shade is a true purple (not berry, plum, or mauve).

Below I've swatched some of the purple lipsticks I've reviewed in the past few months to compare.

This lipstick smells the best out of all the other purple lipsticks I own. It has a really fruity scent. It also feels very smooth and creamy on the lips. The texture and lasting power is comparable to most other shine-finish lipsticks. I can get 4+ hours before needing to retouch.

Overall, I enjoy this lipstick because the shade is unique, I like how it feels, and I love the smell. If you love purple lipsticks this is a shade I would look out for!

BA STAR Tropical Eyeshadow Palette Review

BA STAR is a brand that is still pretty new to me, so I was excited to get the opportunity to try their new Tropical Eyeshadow Palette.

BA STAR Tropical Eyeshadow Palette
Price: $8.75
Available at

These 5 gorgeous eyeshadows come in a plastic case with a double sided applicator. The eyeshadows are decently sized, so this is a nice value for the price!

When swatched, these colors show up just as brightly as they do in the pan! I was not really sure what to expect as far as color payoff, but I am very impressed! These vivid colors are perfect for summer.

I expect most shimmery eyeshadows to have lot's of fallout, but I didn't really have an issue with these. They also blend very easily. The texture of the shadows is almost buttery and I would compare them to some of my Urban Decay eyeshadows.

I was also able to try the BA STAR Glue, Eyeshadow, and Glitter Base which was equally as good in quality, and it allowed for these shadows to last all day on my eyes.

Here's a look I did a few days ago using these shades:

Overall, I'm very happy with this eyeshadow palette, and the eyeshadow base! These colors are so bright and pigmented, they can be used as eyeliners as well. The price is also very good for the quality. If you are looking for a great quality, colorful eyeshadow palette, but don't want to spend a lot of money, I highly recommend this! Also if you decide to buy it, use the coupon code below for 50% off (valid until July 4)!

Mary Kay At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliner Review

The Mary Kay At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliner is another new addition to the Mary Kay At Play line which is targeted at young adults and teens.

Mary Kay At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliner
Price: $10
Available through Mary Kay Beauty Consultants and on

This liquid liner comes in four bright colors that are perfect for summer. This shade is called Blue My Mind. The product is housed in a plastic tube that displays the gorgeous color inside.

The applicator on this product is kind of frustrating. It is hard, so when you try to make a thin line it comes off streaky. If it was softer and more flexible it would be easier to work with. I have found more success in making thick lines with this liner as you can from the swatches below.

Although the applicator is pretty annoying I have no issues with the pigmentation and lasting power. The color stays vivid and bold all day! But when first applied I have to make sure that I don't touch or smear this eyeliner because it takes a little while to dry.

Overall, I am a little underwhelmed by this product because the other product in the MK At Play Line impressed me a lot more than this one. I love the color and the lasting power is okay, but it isn't the most convenient product to apply. It helps to use my own brush to apply the product. I think it's decent for the price though. I'm not sure if there are any other brands that have bright, colorful eyeliners that are this price of cheaper. If you know of any please let me know below!

Mary Kay At Play Triple Layer Tinted Balm Review

Mary Kay has added some new products to the Mary Kay At Play line which is targeted at teens and young adults! One of their newest additions it this Mark Kay At Play Triple Layer Tinted Balm (gosh that name is long). Normally I can't resist trying all of the new shades of the MK At Play products, but I just went with one shade this time. I couldn't  really justify adding more tinted lip balms to my collection!

Mary Kay At Play Triple Layer Tinted Balm
Price: $10
Available at and through Mary Kay Consultants

This product is housed in white casing, and the product twists up. As the name suggests, this lip balm has three different layers which I think looks pretty cool!

Are you surprised I went with the purple shade?  This product comes in 4 different shades and this shade is called In the Plum. It's a sheer berry color. Although it is sheer, it has decent color payoff and I actually notice the color on my lips.

Here's a swatch of the color below:

This tinted lip balm feels the best on my lips out of most of the one's I own. Nothing compares to the smooth, moisturizing feeling of the Fresh Tinted Lip Treatments, but those are REALLY expensive for a lip balm. And this feels better on the lips than the Maybelline Baby Lips, but the Baby Lips are cheaper...

I'm kinda conflicted about this product, but I think it is worth owning at least one of these, since they feel so nice. I just wouldn't collect them all like I tend to do with the cheaper Baby Lips.

Have you tried this new Tinted Balm yet? What't your favorite brand for tinted lip balms?

Incoco Nail Polish Applique in Enchanted Sea

I've done a review on the Incoco Nail Polish Appliques a few month's ago (check out the review here), but today I  wanted to do a quick post sharing this gorgeous glitter applique that I've been wearing for the past week! This design is called Enchanted Sea and it's a blue, green, and silver gradient design.

Here's how these look in natural lighting:

And here's the design with flash:

I love how this looks so much! The colors remind me of mermaids! I've also enjoyed the durability of these nails strips because I've worn these for a week with very minimal chipping at the tips. Incoco is easily my favorite brand for nail strips for the lasting power and the amount of designs!

Have you tried Incoco nail appliques? What's your favorite brand for nail strips?

*Disclaimer: I received this product from Incoco, but that does not influence the nature of this review. I am receiving no monetary compensation for this post.*
