Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Review

There's only a few more days until Christmas, so it's time to pull out all of those holiday-red lip products! Every year I make it my mission to find that perfect red to wear to all of the family events and holiday parties. The Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in the shade Beso, which Stila describes as a "true red," is the product I've been putting to the test lately. Did it hold up enough to be worthy of my holiday festivities? Keep reading for all my thoughts!

The Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick comes in 14 shades and is priced at $24.00. This liquid lipstick comes in a clear tube with a doe-foot applicator wand. The wand makes application very precise and easy.

Upon immediate application the lipstick is glossy, but it dries to a beautiful matte finish. The color is very even, and even with hours of wear, I don't have to worry about patchiness. It claims to last 6 hours, and I find this to be true as long as I'm not constantly eating/drinking. This lipstick also claims to be hydrating, and while I don't think it feels dry on the lips, I don't get any of the moisturizing effects. When applying, I normally put on a lip balm to prep my lips, and find that it feels just fine for extended wear.

Here's how Beso looks on my lips:

I really appreciate the lasting power, finish, and color selection of this line. It is also very comfortable on the lips. The formula isn't drying like many of the other liquid lipsticks that I've tried. I love this shade so much that it will definitely be on my lips a lot this season! If you're looking for a liquid lipstick line to try, I recommend taking a look at Stila.

New Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation

It seems like were always reminded that makeup is bad for the skin. Were always told that it's not exactly good to pile on layers of cosmetics on your skin daily, and that we should let our skin "breathe" sometimes. So, when a product like Maybelline's Super Stay Better Skin Foundation comes out, claiming to be a long-wear foundation that actually improves the skins appearance after extended use, I can't help but try it!

I paid around $10 for this foundations, and it's available in most drugstores and at Ulta. It comes in 11 shades, and here I have the second to darkest shade, Warm Honey.

Not only does this foundation have beautiful packaging; it also has a pump which really eases the application process.

This foundation contains antioxidants and vitamin c which supposed to give you a brighter and more even complexion in as little as 3 weeks. I've really put this claim to the test for the past month, and I don't think it necessarily improved my skin. I still notice the same amount of dark spots and my skin doesn't really appear brighter once I remove the foundation.

However, the lasting power on this foundation is pretty phenomenal. This is my go-to foundation for daily wear because I can count on it to stay on my skin 8+ hours without fading. The Superstay Foundation applies very smoothly and evenly, and it doesn't take large amounts of products to give me medium coverage. It also doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all.

In the pic below I had been wearing the foundation 8 hours:

Overall, if you are looking for a drugstore foundation that looks great on the skin, provides good coverage, and has great lasting power; you'll probably enjoy this one. I wish the shade selection was better (and catered better to darker skin tones), and I think the claim that it improves the skin is a little gimmicky. But it is reliable, and I would definitely repurchase it.

Studio Gear Impactfull Mascara Review!

It's about time I did another mascara review! Lately I've been using the Studio Gear Impactfull Mascara which is available here for $18.00.

This mascara comes in a sleek, black tube, and it has a very large brush with bristles (as opposed to plastic).

When applying this mascara, I use about two coats, and doing this gives my eyelashes lots of volume and length, however, it could be a little better at separating the lashes. Below you can see how my lashes look before and after using the mascara.

Unless you are swimming or crying, you won't have to worry about this mascara smudging. It isn't waterproof, but Studio Gear claims that the Impactfull Mascara is "smudge-free" and I agree with this claim. It lasts well through daily wear.

Overall, I enjoyed this mascara. I like the dramatic thickness and length it gives my lashes and the fair price, but I think it is lacking a little in the separation department. If you want to give this mascara a try, visit studiogearcosmetics.com and check it out!

What's in My Bag #BringComfyBack

I know my posting has been sparse lately, but I'm back with a working computer! Today I want to share some of my purse essentials with you all. All of these products are in my bag and all time and help me avoid lots of life's uncomfortable moments!

Of course I keep my wallet and my phone in my purse, but here are the other items that I find essential.

I always carry blotting sheets and a mirror with me. My skin is oily year round, and these allow me to quickly get rid of unwanted shine. I also carry a few lip products with me. Currently I have a lip balm, Mary Kay Sienna Brulee Lipstick, and Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain in Smitten.

Headphones are also very helpful to have in your purse at all times. I find it helpful to have a pair designated to my purse so I won't forget to keep them in there. My favorite to use are these Skullcandy ear buds.

You never know what messy situations and surfaces you may encounter, so hand-sanitizer is also very important. I just have a plain Purell sanitizer, but you can check out Bath and Body Works hand-sanitizers if you want some fun scents. This isn't pictured, but having gum or mints in your purse can also come in handy.

And finally, possibly the biggest purse essential is some form of feminine product. Right now I've been keeping the U by Kotex Curves Liners. These particular liners keep me fresh and comfortable, and I always use them as backup for tampons and for light flow days.

For a chance to win prizes like a trip to L.A., $2000 cash, and a U by Kotex photoshoot, (grand prize) or a $100 gift card (monthly prizes), visit this site. Here you can also request free samples of some of their products!

What are your purse essentials? Leave me a comment below!

*U by Kotex has sponsored this discussion, however, all opinions are my own.*

Sorry for the lack of posts lately! I was holding my laptop and and my dog jumped into my lap causing it to fly across the room. My posts will be a little slow over the next two weeks, but luckily this tutorial has been sitting in my drafts for a few weeks! I hope you enjoy!

Step 4: Take a fluffy blending brush and make sure all of the colors blend into eachother seamlessly, especially at the outer corner and the crease.

Step 5: Finish the look with eyeliner (the wing is optional and can be toned down depending on the occasion), and a volumizing mascara!

Beach Inspired Summer Eye Makeup Tutorial

Step 1: Prime the eyes with an eyeshadow primer, and place a piece of tape at the edge of the eye. This will create a sharp line when removed at the end of the eye makeup application.

Step 2: Blend a cream colored eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight, and blend a medium brown eyeshadow into the crease of the eye.

Step 3: Apply a gold eyeshadow base to the inner half of the eye lid, and place a shimmery gold eyeshadow on top of the cream eyeshadow. Then place a shimmery light blue eyeshadow on the center of the eyelid.

Step 4: Place a medium blue on the outer half of the eye lid, and place a dark blue on the outer 1/3 of the eye lid, overlapping with the medium blue shade. Take a clean blending brush and gently blend the shades making sure there is a seamless gradient from the gold to the dark blue.

Step 5: Apply black gel eyeliner to the upper lash line and on the lower water line. The tape will act as a guide to make the eyeliner application flawless.

Step 6: Remove the tape and apply mascara.

Here's the finished look!

Acid Rain Eye Makeup Look

Today I want to show you all this fun look I did using the Urban Decay Electric Palette! I used different shades of blue and green to create this look, so to find out how I did it, keep reading!

I started this look off with an eye primer, and afterwards I used a fluffy brush to blend a cream colored eyeshadow onto my brow bone to highlight and to apply a medium brown shade in the crease of my eye.

The colors I focused on in the Electric Palette are Fringe, Freak, and Thrash, which you can see in the picture below. I took Fringe on a fluffy blending brush and ran it through my crease, overlapping the area where I place the brown eyeshadow before. Than I took an eyeshadow brush and placed Fringe on the outer 1/3 of my eye lid. I then packed Freak on the center of my lid and Thrash on the inner corner. Then I gently blended the colors to create a nice transition between each shade.

To finish off this look, I applied black pencil eyeliner to my upper and lower lid, and applied my favorite mascara.

Products Used:
-Mary Kay Eye Primer
-Urban Decay Electric Palette (Freak, Trash, and Fringe)
-Paula Dorf Aztec City Palette (cream shade, and medium brown shade)
-Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in Zero
-Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
